UAAP girls volleyball: Shaira Nitura of Adamson

High school standout Shaina Nitura will stay in San Marcelino.

Nitura, the Most Valuable Player of UAAP Season 86 girls volleyball tournament, committed to play for Adamson University for her college stint.

The school announced this development on Saturday.

"I am happy to say that I will commit to Adamson and to Akari," Nitura, Grade 12, said in a video posted by the school. Akari is the official backer of Adamson's volleyball program.

She will join the team led by coach JP Yude.

In Season 86, Nitura led Adamson in an elimination round sweep en route to the crown. She was also named as one of the Best Outside Spikers of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Nitura and the rest of the Adamson community celebrated their recent UAAP championships in a bonfire ceremony.

Adamson recently won the titles in UAAP boys basketball, girls volleyball, and boys athletics.
