Former NCAA MVP Mary Rhose Dapol joins Chery Tiggo

NCAA standout Mary Rhose Dapol has formally made her jump to the professional ranks as she joined the Chery Tiggo Crossovers ahead of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

Chery Tiggo announced Dapol's signing on Sunday as the latter is eligible to skip the upcoming inaugural Rookie Draft after having suited up for Foton in the 2023 Invitational Conference under the special guest license.

According to PVL rules, those who have previously seen action for any club in any league tournament need not to undergo the draft selection.

Dapol, a former NCAA MVP out of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, was a key cog in the Lady ALTAs' runs in the past three seasons.

Her biggest run was during Season 98, where the Las Piñas crew made an impressive run in the elimination round to finish at second to earn a Final Four berth en route to her bagging the top individual honor. However, they lost to Lyceum of the Philippines University in the stepladder semifinals to miss out on a finals appearance.

In her final year in Season 99, however, Perpetual struggled to duplicate that feat after bowing out of the Final Four picture with a 5-4 card.

As she makes a leap to the pros, Dapol will join a star-studded Chery Tiggo roster that has Eya and EJ Laure, Mylene Paat, Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Jen Nierva, and recently-signed import Khat Bell
