Philippines to host AVC Women's Champions League in April

The Philippines has been chosen as the new host for the AVC Women's Champions League in April with the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) serving as the local organizers.

Formerly known as the Asian Club Championship before its recent rebrand, the AVC Women's Champions League was supposed to be hosted by South Korea as earlier announced by AVC President and PNVF chief Ramon "Tats" Suzara

However, Korea's hosting didn't push through, paving the way for the Philippines to get the hosting rights from April 20 to 27 with the venue yet to be announced.

The event will see the top 12 teams in all five zones in Asia competing for  the shared USD 50,000 and the two tickets to the prestigious 2025 FIVB Club World Championship.

As host, the Philippines can field two clubs in the eight-day regional tournament. The men's division, meanwhile, will be staged in Japan from May 11 to 18 with SV. League and JVA as the local organizers.

According to AVC, the drawing of lots to determine the groups will be on March 12. The 12 participating clubs will be divided into four pools of three teams.
