PVL volleyball: Chery Tiggo Crossovers

Chery Tiggo survived a grueling four-set encounter against Farm Fresh to eke out a 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21 victory and book a quarterfinals ticket in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.

With the win, the Crossovers were able to sweep the play-in round after going 2-0 in Pool B. They previously defeated Nxled in straight sets, 25-22, 26-24, 25-12.

Ara Galang led the way with 20 points built on 16 attacks, three blocks, and one ace while Shaya Adorador dazzled with 18 markers and 13 digs to help carry the squad to the playoffs.

In the second game, ZUS Coffee recovered from a fourth-set meltdown and escaped Cignal in a five-set thriller, 19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12, to keep its playoff dreams alive.

The Thunderbelles banked on former HD Spiker Chai Troncoso and Chinnie Arroyo in the deciding set with the latter scoring back-to-back kills for a 10-8 lead. Troncoso then sent them to a 13-10 cushion before her two consecutive attacks delivered the win for ZUS Coffee.

ZUS Coffee moved to a 1-0 card in Pool A while Cignal is in a dangerous position with a 1-1 record. ZUS will look to clinch a QF berth on Thursday when it takes on Capital1.
