Shaina Nitura tows Adamson in upset win vs NU
Shaina Nitura towed Adamson University past National University, 25-23, 15-25, 28-26, 25-22, on Sunday in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The rookie Nitura had 32 points from 30 attacks and two blocks to lead the Lady Falcons to their fourth win in 11 games, and had 10 excellent digs and six excellent receptions. She was the only double digit scorer for Adamson with Frances Mordi adding nine points.
"Siyempre pampa-boost ng confidence ng team na maniwala pa sa sarili namin pare-pareho, hindi namin dapat maliitin 'yung sarili namin kasi alam namin na may ibubuga kami every game and God’s grace talaga na nanalo kami kasi nung last games namin medyo pababa na talaga ‘yung kumpyansa namin,” said Nitura.

Bella Belen had 19 points, while Vange Alinsug had 16 points. Chammy Maaya had 12 points, while Erin Pangilinan and Arah Panique had 10 points apiece as NU missed the services of the injured Alyssa Solomon.

Faida Bakanke led FEU with 20 points, while Chen Tagaod and Gerz Petallo had 14 points apiece as the Morayta-based squad improved to 7-4.
