Alas Pilipinas Men fall to Thailand in SEA V.League
The Alas Pilipinas Men team was not able to keep its momentum going as it came up short against a tough Thailand team, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24 in the first leg of the SEA V.League on Thursday at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.
Following a straight sets win over Vietnam in their tournament opener, Alas struggled against Thailand, which was riding high off its own 3-1 triumph against Indonesia.

Thailand was able to break the first set wide open, turning a 15-12 game into a 25-16 win, capped by a service ace that bounced off of the net.
In the second set, the Philippines held an advantage early, leading at 13-10 and being the first team to 18 points. But some big plays from Thailand late allowed them to overtake Alas and claim the hard-fought set.
The third set was another close one, with the home team getting taking a 24-22 lead to reach set point.
However, Thailand was able to score the last four points to close out the game and clinch its second win.
Alas Pilipinas returns to action on Saturday, July 12, against Cambodia.
