Michele Gumabao and Lorie Bernardo took turns in the endgame as Creamline completed a 25-15, 25-13, 25-22 win against Chery Tiggo to claim the PVL Invitational Conference bronze medal on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Cool Smashers not only salvaged a medal but also stretched their podium streak to 19.

Gumbao top-scored with 17 points on 14 attacks and three blocks while Bernardo finished with six markers all in the crucial third set.

Creamline had to overcome a shaky start in Set 3, with the Crossovers racing to a 9-5 lead. But a timely substitution brought in Bernardo, who delivered back-to-back hits to spark a 6-1 run that swung the lead back to the Cool Smashers, 11-10.

Chery Tiggo kept things close by forcing multiple deadlocks before regaining an 18-17 cushion after Cess Robles denied Alyssa Valdez on the opposite side.

Bernardo converted another pair of kills to send Creamline to a 19-18 lead before Jema Galanza soared for a cross court hammer from the right side to give them a 22-21 advantage.

Gumabao then subbed in to finish the job, scoring the last three points for the multi-titled Creamline as they saved a bronze medal despite missing another finals trip.

Galanza helped the cause with 12 points together with seven digs and seven receptions while Valdez flirted with a triple-double of nine markers, 13 digs, and 18 receptions.
