Bryan Bagunas happy to rejoin Alas Pilipinas after injury layoff for FIVB Worlds

Bryan Bagunas is back — and he is happy with the potential he sees in Alas Pilipinas Men at the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship.

Bagunas rejoined the squad just in time for the global tournament, having recovered from an injury he sustained last year.

“For me, yun nga, not a good start pero for the third set, nakita ko naman ‘yung potential,”said Bagunas, who scored 23 points in the Philippines’ opening-day loss to Tunisia.

“Sobrang natuwa ako na naging maganda ang performance ng third set.”

“For sure, kami, babawi kami.”

On a personal note, Bagunas said he was just grateful to hear the crowd cheering again after a long layoff.

“For me, ‘yun nga na-goosebump ako, sobrang na-feel ko na naman ‘yung crowd. Alam n’yo naman, almost a year, nagpahinga ako, nag-recovery muna ako. Sobrang natutuwa ako na nandyan talaga ‘yung suporta ng fans.”

Bagunas and the rest of the national team will return to action on Tuesday against Egypt.
