Leila Barros arrives in PH for FIVB Men’s World Championship

Former Brazil volleyball star Leila Barros has arrived in Manila on Friday just in time for the semifinal and final matches of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship.

According to the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), Barros and her entourage experienced travel delays and were stranded in Doha for nearly a day due to flight issues.

Barros is expected to attend both the semifinal matches on Saturday and the finals on Sunday.

In the semifinals, Czechia will face Bulgaria in the opening match, followed by a showdown between Poland and Italy.

Barros is no stranger to Manila, having competed in the 2000 FIVB Grand Prix held in the Philippines. She was also part of the Brazilian national team that won bronze medals at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics.
