Anna DeBeer explodes in debut as ZUS stuns Chery Tiggo
Anna DeBeer had herself an explosive debut as ZUS Coffee overcame Chery Tiggo in four sets, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23 in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Saturday at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite.
The American import dropped 37 points anchored on 35 attacks, one block, and one ace together with 14 receptions to help the Thunderbelles go 1-0 in Pool B.
DeBeer did not make her supposed debut last Tuesday in ZUS' 24-26, 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 15-7 win against Akari, which was later nullified following the delayed issuance of International Transfer Certificates (ITC) from Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF).
"It's just been incredible for a first game. I had no expectations coming here and just to see how everyone gets behind us and the environment, it's so fun to play in. It just helps everyone to play better," DeBeer said.
"I really think it's a fun place to play in."
DeBeer did not lack the local support with AC Miner posting 13 points while Kate Santiago chimed in with seven markers.
Chery Tiggo reinforcement Yuni Batista also made a huge outing with 22 points together with eight digs and six receptions while Ara Galang chipped in 15 markers.
