PVL: ZUS shocks Petro Gazz in sweep to remain unbeaten in Reinforced Conference

ZUS Coffee preserved its unbeaten run in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference after stunning powerhouse Petro Gazz with a sweep victory, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20, on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre. 

The Thunderbelles leaned on import Anna DeBeer in the three-set romp as the American import dazzled with 23 points while middle blocker AC Miner led the local support with 11 markers in the match that only lasted for one hour and 29 minutes. 

ZUS has now surged to a surprise 4-0 start in Pool B while the Angels absorbed their second straight loss to go 3-2 in the same bracket. 

In other games, Akari and Creamline took care of business as well after cruising past Galeries and Chery Tiggo respectively. 

Akari bounced back and pulled off a 25-11, 25-23, 25-23 win against the winless Galeries while defending champion Creamline battled back from a Set 1 hiccup to complete a 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 win against Chery Tiggo. 

The Chargers, who were fresh off a heartbreaking five-set loss to Petro Gazz, banked on import Annie Mitchem who poured 14 points on 10 attacks and four blocks on top of seven digs and four receptions as Akari improved to 3-1 in Pool B. 

The Cool Smashers flaunted its depth as well with American Courtney Schwan detonating for 29 big points anchored on 25 attacks and four aces while also collecting nine receptions as Creamline went 3-2.
