PVL: Undefeated ZUS Coffee clinches QF slot after surviving Choco Mucho

ZUS Coffee emerged as the first team to book a quarterfinal berth following a 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19 win over Choco Mucho in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Saturday at the Candon City Arena.

The Thunderbelles closed out the victory with a massive 7-0 run in the fourth set as they remained unscathed with a 6-0 record while the Flying Titans fell to a 2-4 card.

Import Anna DeBeer led the charge with 20 points and 10 receptions while middle blocker Riza Nogales and Chinnie Arroyo both chipped in 11 markers with the latter scoring the last three points to seal the victory.

Choco Mucho put the roof on Nogales to take a slim 19-18 lead, but the Flying Titans couldn't stop the rest of the Thunderbelles with Jovelyn Gonzaga unleashing one from the middle to take a 20-19 lead.

A net error was then called against Choco Mucho, giving the red-hot ZUS Coffee a 22-19 advantage. Arroyo would punctuate the victory with three straight points after unleashing back-to-back kills and denying Kat Tolentino on the opposite.

Choco Mucho only got seven points from its import Anyse Smith, but received 18 big points from middle blocker Maddie Madayag, who unloaded 10 monster blocks in the loss.
