PVL: Farm Fresh shocks Petro Gazz in four-set thriller to book QF slot

PVL: Helene Rousseaux of Farm Fresh

Farm Fresh fended off a furious rally from Petro Gazz to complete a 25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 28-26 win and advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

The Foxies survived the extended fourth set as they cruised to back-to-back wins to improve to 5-1, forging a two-way tie alongside three-peat seeking PLDT at second overall spot. The Angels, meanwhile, fell to a 3-3 card.

The Angels built on their third set momentum, forcing an 18-all deadlock in the fourth frame after an attack error from Farm Fresh import Helene Rousseaux.

But the Foxies unloaded a 5-2 rampage to gain a 23-20 cushion. Petro Gazz responded with import Lindsey Vander Weide fueling a 3-0 swing that saw the two teams knotted anew at 23-all.

A Trisha Tubu opposite kill allowed Farm Fresh to take the first match point, but Petro Gazz converted two consecutive points that enabled the Angels to secure a 25-24 lead.

Farm Fresh would clinch their second match point at 26-25 off a one-two play from setter Alohi Robins-Hardy, but Vander Weide tied things up again off a cross-court hammer.

But Rousseaux made sure to finish it off for the Foxies, unleashing a strong kill from the back row before hitting one from the left wing off a free ball to seal it.

Rousseaux led the charge with 31 huge points anchored on 27 attacks, three blocks, and one ace while also posting 11 digs and six receptions.
