PVL: Petro Gazz, ZUS Coffee advance to PVL Reinforced Conference finals

Petro Gazz and ZUS Coffee booked their spots in the PVL Reinforced Conference finals after dispatching their respective opponents in the semifinals on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Angels outlasted Akari, 25-19, 25-17, 15-25, 22-25, 15-13, to advance to the championship round, with Brooke Van Sickle leading the charge with 23 points. Import Lindsey Vander Weide added 16 points, while Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The win spoiled Annie Mitchem’s 28-point outing for the Chargers, while Ced Domingo led the local scorers with 16 points.

Meanwhile, ZUS Coffee advanced to the finals for the first time after sweeping PLDT, 25-22, 28-26, 25-22.

Anna DeBeer powered the Thunderbelles with 30 points, while Chinnie Arroyo contributed 14.

For PLDT, Anastasiia Bavykina finished with 16 points, and Savi Davison added 15.

With the results, Akari and PLDT will face off in the bronze-medal match.
