Chery Tiggo 'closes' PVL chapter after 11 years

Chery Tiggo is closing its chapter with the PVL, putting an end to an 11-year run that saw them emerge as among the powerhouse clubs in the league.

The Crossovers announced the development on Tuesday just a few weeks after the club finished 10th in the recently-concluded 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.

"With heavy hearts, we announce the closing of the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers' chapter, after 11 unforgettable years in professional volleyball," the team said in a post.

"To our leagues, sponsors, staff, and most especially, to our players past and present, thank you for your dedication and heart. To our incredible fans: you have been the soul of this team. Your unwavering support made this journey extraordinary."

Chery Tiggo was the first-ever professional champion in PVL, winning a maiden title back in the 2022 PVL Open Conference against Creamline behind the sister act of Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago.

In the recent PVL On Tour, Chery Tiggo reached the finals but bowed to PLDT in a five-set thriller.

Chery Tiggo's exit means that the likes of Jen Nierva, Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Ponggay Gaston, and Mylene Paat will no longer have a team.

"From our beginning as the Foton Tornadoes to our journey as the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers, we celebrate the milestones."
