Cignal parts ways with Steven Rotter, Vince Maglinao ahead of new Spikers' Turf season
Cignal has let go of former Finals MVP Steven Rotter and Vince Maglinao before opening a fresh campaign in the 2026 Spikers' Turf Season, the club announced on Friday.
The 27-year-old Rotter has proven his caliber as one of the best opposite spikers in the league, helping the Super Spikers win the 2024 Invitational and 2025 Open Conferences which both saw them beat rival Criss Cross.
During their 2024 Invitational run, Rotter, who was once a part of Alas Pilipinas Men, clinched Best Opposite Spiker and Finals MVP honors.
Maglinao, meanwhile, ended a brief stint with the club. He joined Cignal in June 2025 alongside former NCAA star KC Andrade, Jayrack Dela Noche, and Lhexen Rabit.
According to Spikers' Turf website, Maglinao has decided to step away from competitive volleyball to pursue his flight school aspirations.
In the latest Spikers' Turf conference, Cignal missed the finals after finishing third amid the absence of current Alas players in Owa Retamar, Louie Ramirez, and Lloyd Josafat.
