PVL: Remy Palma joins Strong Group Athletics as playing assistant coach

Remy Palma begins a new chapter in her career after joining Strong Group Athletics as a playing assistant coach ahead of the new PVL season.

The veteran middle blocker ended her four-year stint with Petro Gazz and will now bring her veteran presence both onto the court and the bench, bolstering the coaching staff led by head tactician Gary Van Sickle.

She will be with either ZUS Coffee or Farm Fresh. 

The 5-foot-10 ace has been with the Angels since 2021 and has helped the squad win a number of PVL titles while also assuming the captain role, leading the likes of Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Jonah Sabete. 

In her time with Petro Gazz, Palma helped steer the club to three crowns, including the most recent one in the 2025 Reinforced Conference, where the Angels defeated, incidentally, ZUS Coffee to claim their fourth overall title. 

Palma was the latest player to be let go by the Angels after veteran Chie Saet, who has likewise joined SGA together with Royse Tubino in a busy offseason for PVL.
