Crisanta Servided sizzled for Arellano University after leading the way in a 25-23, 25-22, 25-18 sweep of Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball on Tuesday at the San Andres Spors Complex.
The opposite hitter pumped in a team-high 19 points anchored on 14 attacks, three blocks, and two aces as the Lady Chiefs improved to 1-1 following their opening-day loss to Colegio de San Juan de Letran last Friday.
Veteran outside spiker Laika Tudlasan chipped in nine markers while Kheisha Abitria posted seven markers and five receptions.
Serviced served up an ace that sent the Lady Chiefs to a huge 20-13 lead in the opening set, but the Lady Pirates responded with a 7-1 rampage capped by a Hiromi Osada ace as LPU pulled within one, 21-20.
But Heart Villaflores provided the spark off the bench, converting a down-the-line kill that helped Arellano close out the set despite nearly wasting a huge lead.
LPU tried to replicate the same fightback in Set 3, erasing an eight-point deficit to six after a quick kill from Osada, 18-24 but Tudlasan soared from the left wing to punish the LPU wall with a powerful spike.
Ashley Muchillas led the way for LPU in the loss after posting 13 points while graduating Johna Dolorito chipped in 11 markers. The loss sent LPU to a 0-2 start after falling to San Beda University during their clash last Saturday.
