The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Lady Knights stretched their unbeaten run to three matches after sweeping Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-14, 25-16, 25-13, in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament.
Judiel Nitura led the Lady Knights with 11 points, while Gia Maquilang added 10 to extend Letran’s winning streak. Nat Estreller orchestrated the offense with 15 of Letran’s 19 excellent sets, as LPU managed just 11 as a team.
Ashley Muchillas scored seven points and Stacey Lopez added six for the Lady Pirates, who absorbed their third straight loss.
In the men’s division, Letran also came away with a win as Bembem Bautista poured in 21 points to lead the Knights past LPU, 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22, for back-to-back wins.
Bautista delivered 18 attacks and three blocks, while also tallying 15 receptions and eight digs. Vince Himzon chipped in 17 points, with Christer Lou Ambrocio adding 14.
Chris Louie Dumasig led LPU with 13 points, while Rogel De Guzman and Liam Clark Mojica scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
With the victories, Letran improved to 3-0 in the women’s division and 2-1 in the men’s side, while LPU dropped to 0-3 in both divisions.
