UAAP: UE mourns passing of HS volleyball coach Herbert Dizon

The University of the East is mourning the passing of its high school boys volleyball head coach Herbert Dizon.

Dizon passed away on Monday “due to complications from illness,” according to UE.

He steered the UE high school boys volleyball team to the UAAP Season 88 championship last December and a Final Four finish in UAAP Season 87.

“This triumph marked UE’s 15th overall UAAP Boys’ Volleyball Championship and the program’s first title since 2014, a testament to the team’s hard work, discipline, and relentless fighting spirit as much as to the leadership and athletic smarts and greatness of Head Coach Dizon,” UE said in its post.

“Our heartfelt condolences to Head Coach Dizon’s family, friends and boys’ volleyball players, fellow coaches and staffers. Rest in peace, Head Coach Herbert, and boundless thanks for your champion Warrior heart.”
