UAAP: FEU Lady Tams bounce back at UE’s expense; Tamaraws go 2-0 in men’s volleyball

Far Eastern University bounced back at the expense of University of the East, 25-20, 25-14, 25-14, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.

Faida Bakanke and Jay Ellarina paced the Lady Tamaraws with 11 points apiece as the Morayta-based squad improved to 1-1.

UE had no player scoring in double figures, with Khy Cepada finishing with nine points and Nessa Bangayan adding eight.

In the men’s division, FEU likewise swept UE, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23, to notch its second straight win.

Lirick Mendoza led the Tamaraws with 16 points built on 11 attacks, four blocks, and an ace. Dryx Saavedra and Doula Ndongala chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively, as FEU claimed a share of the lead with National University at 2-0.

Isaiah Roca scored 11 points, while Raquim Aceron added nine for UE, which remained winless after two games.
