PVL: Cignal sweeps erstwhile unbeaten PLDT to claim solo top spot in All-Filipino Conference

PVL All-Filipino 2026: Cignal vs PLDT

Cignal averted a major collapse in Set 3 to hack out a 25-21, 25-19, 25-23 win over PLDT in 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Erika Santos delivered timely attacks to help the Super Spikers surge to solo top spot at 4-1 while handing the High Speed Hitters their first loss, dropping them to 3-1.

A Jackie Acuña ace gave the well-rested Cignal a comfortable 16-11 lead in the third frame, but several errors on their side allowed PLDT to stage a 6-0 rampage and take the lead at 17-16.

But Cignal restored order with Santos unleashing two kills and Gel Cayuna serving an ace to fuel a 4-0 run that saw them retake a 20-17 cushion.

Santos then traded attacks with her counterpart Kim Kianna Dy, whose kill from the right side cut the deficit to two, 22-20. But Cignal proved to be steadier in the endgame with Cayuna finishing it off with a one-two dump.

Santos top-scored with 17 points while Vanie Gandler pumped in 14 markers and eight receptions. Cayuna had a stellar game as well, finishing with nine points in addition to her 18 excellent sets.

In the first game, Akari broke through with a 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22 win against Nxled behind a collective effort.

Ivy Lacsina led the victory with a double-double of 20 points and10 receptions while Ced Domingo and Eli Soyud chipped in 17 and 13 markers apiece. Grethcel Soltones shone with a triple-double of 12 points, 14 digs, and 10 receptions as the Chargers ended their three-game slump.

They also handed Nxled its second loss in a row after an impressive 3-0 start.
