PVL: Capital1, Choco Mucho outlast Farm Fresh, Galeries in five-set thrillers

Capital1 and Choco Mucho outlasted Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower, respectively, in five-set matches in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Filoil Centre in San Juan.

Choco Mucho needed two hours and 10 minutes to turn back Galeries, 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-12.

Eya Laure and Sisi Rondina scored 18 points apiece, with Rondina adding 13 digs and 11 receptions to steer the Flying Titans past the Highrisers.

Lorraine Pecanã chipped in 15 points, Dindin Manabat added 11, and Des Cheng contributed 10, while Deanna Wong tallied 11 excellent sets as Choco Mucho improved to 2-3.

Erika Deloria paced Galeries with 19 points, while Jean Asis had 15 as the Highrisers dropped to 2-3.

In the other match, the Solar Spikers edged the Foxies, 26-24, 20-25, 28-26, 20-25, 15-11, in a contest that lasted two hours and 28 minutes.

Bella Belen delivered another big performance with 23 points, along with 12 digs and 19 receptions, while Syd Niegos added 20 points built on 17 attacks, two blocks, and an ace. Shaya Adorador chipped in 14 points as Capital1 evened its record at 3-3.

The victory overshadowed Trisha Tubu’s 30-point explosion for the Foxies, highlighted by 25 attacks and five blocks. Ces Molina added 21 points, but Farm Fresh slipped to 2-3.
