PVL: Creamline repulses late Galeries rally to nab fourth straight win

PVL Open Conference 2026: Creamline vs Galeries Tower

Creamline weathered a late Set 4 comeback attempt by Galeries Tower to complete a 25-14, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23 win in the 2026 PVL Open Conference on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

The Cool Smashers nearly wasted a six-point lead after Julia Coronel sparked the Highrisers' rampage, but Creamline found the finishing hit to close it out in four sets.

Tots Carlos led the show with 19 points and 13 digs while Bernadeth Pons and Jema Galanza chipped in 15 and 12 markers, respectively, with the latter grabbing 11 receptions to shine on both ends as they improved to 4-1 behind a four-game streak.

Creamline surged to a 20-14 lead in Set 4 before clinching the match point at 24-19 after Shola Alvarez went short on her service. But the Highrisers showed resiliency with a furious 4-0 run capped by two clutch aces from Coronel as they cut the gap to just one, 24-23.

Jia De Guzman, though, set up a perfect pass to middle blocker Jeanette Panaga, whose quick kill extinguished the Galeries’ run and sealed the four-set escape for the Cool Smashers.

Jean Asis and Erika Deloria paced Galeries with 12 and 11 points each while Coronel tallied six markers in addition to her 16 excellent sets, but their comeback attempt fell short as they dropped to 2-4.

In the first game, Choco Mucho pulled off a 27-25, 28-26, 16-25, 25-19 win against Nxled behind the tandem of Sisi Rondina and Eya Laure.

Rondina pumped in 24 points anchored on 21 attacks, two aces, and one block while Laure finished with 13 markers off the bench as the Flying Titans climbed to 3-3.

The Chameleons, who got a 20-point outing from Brooke Van Sickle and a 13-point game from MJ Phillips, absorbed their third straight loss and slipped to 3-3.
