UAAP: NU Lady Bulldogs bounce back, sweep UE

National University rebounded with a dominant 25-19, 25-10, 25-19 victory over University of the East on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The win came after the defending champions absorbed a five-set loss to the University of the Philippines last Saturday.

Arah Panique paced the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points and three digs, while Celine Marsh added 11 points built on eight attacks, two aces, and a block, along with 12 digs and four receptions, as NU improved to 4-1.

“Nag-move on lang kami. Hindi naman doon [sa talo sa UP] natatapos ang lahat, marami pa kaming chance na baguhin at pagtrabahuhan pa ’yung susunod na games,” said team captain Vange Alinsug, who finished with 10 points from eight attacks, a block, and an ace, on top of seven digs and seven receptions.

Van Bangayan chipped in 12 points, three digs, and five receptions, while Khy Cepada contributed 10 points, seven receptions, and six digs as UE remained winless through five games.
