PVL: Akari snaps Creamline’s five-game win streak; Nxled beats ZUS Coffee
Akari defeated Creamline, 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, on Thursday in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Centre, extending its winning streak to four games.
The victory, which came after the Chargers opened the conference with three straight losses, also snapped the Cool Smashers’ five-game winning streak.
Ivy Lacsina led Akari with 20 points built on 18 attacks, a block, and an ace, along with 17 receptions. Eli Soyud and Grethcel Soltones added 15 and 14 points, respectively, for the Chargers.
Jema Galanza scored 16 points, while Tots Carlos had 10 as the Cool Smashers slipped to 2-5.
Meanwhile, Nxled recovered from a slow start to defeat ZUS Coffee, 20-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19.
Brooke Van Sickle finished with 20 points, 12 receptions, and 10 digs, while Jonah Sabete added 19 points and eight receptions as the Chameleons improved to 4-4.
Thea Gagate had 16 points, while Cess Robles and Jovelyn Gonzaga chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively, as the Thunderbelles dropped to 1-7.
