EAC’s Abor, Taculog place third in BVR; Alas duo Rosales, Abdilla win gold

Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Jan Ruther Abor and Frelwin Taculog finished third in the men’s division of the BVR Nuvali Open after defeating University of Santo Tomas’ JM Lagaran and Lance Malinao, 21-19, 26-24.

The BVR Nuvali Open was held at the Nuvali Sand Courts last weekend in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The tournament also saw Alas Pilipinas’ Ronniel Rosales and Ranran Abdilla capture the gold, completing a tournament sweep after defeating Amigo’s Wayne Dionela and Rancel Varga in the finals, 21-13, 21-19.

Earlier, Rosales and Abdilla defeated Lagaran and Malinao, 21-14, 21-14, while Dionela and Varga ousted the EAC pair, 21-15, 22-20.

In the women’s division, meanwhile, National University’s Vilmarie Toos and Honey Grace Cordero defeated Alas 1’s Sunnie Villapando and Gen Eslapor, 21-13, 21-23, 15-11.

Alas 2’s Khy Progella and Sofiah Pagara, on the other hand, defeated Fille Cayetano and Kizil Quijote, 21-7, 21-11, to finish third.
