UAAP: Adamson eliminates UP from Final Four contention
Adamson University swept the University of the Philippines, 25-19, 25-18, 25-16, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
With the win, the Lady Falcons improved to 8-5 and moved closer to a Final Four berth, currently holding third place ahead of University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University, which both stand at 7-5.
UP, meanwhile, was eliminated from Final Four contention as it dropped to 5-8.
Shaina Nitura led the Lady Falcons with 26 points, along with six receptions and six digs, while Marie Joy Aseo added 10 points.
Kianne Olango, meanwhile, tallied 13 points and 13 receptions to lead the Fighting Maroons.
In men’s play, Adamson snapped a five-game skid at the expense of UP, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23.
Adamson improved to 3-10, while UP dropped to a similar 3-10 record.
