PVL volleyball: Cignal Super Spikers

Another team is stepping away from the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after Cignal announced it's taking a leave of absence from the league just days after it captured a silver medal in the recent All-Filipino Conference.

"This is to officially announce that the Cignal Super Spikers - Women's Volleyball Team has filed a Leave of Absence in the Premier Volleyball League," Cignal said in a statement.

"This difficult decision was taken after careful review of Cignal's strategic direction."

The move marks the latest departure from the league and from volleyball landscape in general.

In December 2025, Chery Tiggo announced that it is ceasing its volleyball operations and leaving the PVL after 11 years before Petro Gazz also filed for LOA in January, halting a seven-year run that saw the Angels capture multiple titles.

Later that same month, Cignal's Men's Volleyball Team also left the Spikers' Turf. Cignal is the most decorated club in Spikers' Turf, winning a total of seven championships, including three straight Open Conference titles from 2023 to 2025.

Cignal is coming off a hard-fought runner-up finish in the Open Conference, falling to multi-titled Creamline in the finals. The campaign also marked the rise of several players, including Conference MVP Vanie Gandler, along with Erika Santos, Gel Cayuna, and Jacq Acuña.

“Our deepest thanks go out to the players, coaches, and staff who have poured their hearts into this team over the years,” Cignal added.

“And to our fans, who have stood by us, maraming, maraming salamat!”
