Alas Pilipinas Men fall to Indonesia, slip to SEA V Cup classification round

The Alas Pilipinas Men fell to Indonesia, 25-20, 25-23, 27-25, in the SEA V Cup on Friday in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

Rama Fazza Fauzan and Boy Arnez Arabi led Indonesia with 13 and 11 points, respectively, as the Indonesians improved to 2-0 and advanced to the semifinals alongside Cambodia (1-1).

Joshua Magalaman and Jude Garcia, meanwhile, scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, in the loss, which relegated the Philippines to the classification round.

Still, head coach Angiolino Frigoni said he was proud of the team's effort.

“For us, almost all of them on their first international experience, is very good. We improved. I hope that we continue to improve and play better and better, that’s my goal,” Frigoni said.

Thailand (2-0) and Vietnam (1-1), meanwhile, advanced to the semifinals from the other group.

The Philippines (0-2) will face Myanmar in the classification round.
