Alas Pilipinas Women stun powerhouse Vietnam in SEA V Cup 

The Alas Pilipinas Women pulled off a huge stunner against Southeast Asian powerhouse Vietnam with a 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 win in the 2026 SEA V Cup second leg on Saturday at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Thailand.

Young guns took care of business for the national team with Eya Laure shining the brightest with a team-high 22 points while former NU Lady Bulldogs Alyssa Solomon and Bella Belen posted 17 and 16 markers, respectively.

Tied at 22-all, Laure and Belen took turns providing the finishing blow with Belen unleashing a power kill from on the left wing to break the deadlock and seize a crucial one-point lead.

Laure then ended a long rally to clinch the match point at 24-22 before she denied a running attack kill from Vietnam's middle blocker to complete the four-set romp.

The win gave the Philippines its first victory in the 2026 SEA V.League Cup after going winless in the first leg. Alas will next face Indonesia on Sunday for a potential podium finish.
