2 fires raze QC comm'l bldg, Batangas Reg'l Hospital

Two fires which gutted a commercial establishment in San Isidro, Galas, Quezon City, and damaged a section of the Batangas Regional Hospital (BRH) in Batangas City, has been contained by firemen in those respective areas, GMA7's DZBB radio reported Saturday. As of posting time, the fire in San Isidro was extinguished by Quezon City firemen. Fire officials said the fire started from one of the walls of the building. Authorities were still investigating the cause of fire. Meanwhile, Batangas City fire officials reported that they had contained the flames that almost gutted the Batangas Regional Hospital which lasted for 15 minutes. Reports said a laboratory technician had left a burning paraffin wax unattended causing the fire to engulf the room. No casualty was reported. The Batangas Regional Hospital is one of the oldest buildings in the province and it is located in Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City.-GMANews.TV
