Iloilo barangay readies Christmas party for the dead

 

In this barangay in Iloilo province, even the departed are assured of a taste of the festive Christmas atmosphere.

 

Residents of Barangay Tanza in Iloilo have hanged holiday decor on six trees in the local cemetery, GMA News TV's "Balita Pilipinas Ngayon" reported Thursday.

 

The residents also adorned the cemetery with Christmas lights and a Belen (Nativity scene).

 

"Hindi naman maganda na tayong mga buhay lang ang mga kalag hindi na binibigyang pansin. Ang mga tinapon na mha fetus sa sementeryo na hindi nabigyan ng hustisya ay binigyan natin ng pagkakataon na maisama sa misa," said caretaker Alex Fuertes.

 

On Saturday, Dec. 6, a Mass and small party will be held at the cemetery.

 

Even the kin of those who are buried there are invited to take part in the Christmas party for the dearly departed. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
