Police release name of Bukidnon bus blast suspect
Police have already identified the suspect in Tuesday's bombing of a passenger bus in Bukidnon that left 10 people dead, a report on GMA News TV's “News to Go” said Friday.
Citing the Northern Mindanao Police Office, the report said the suspect, Macmod Manibpil, was an escapee from the Kidapawan Provincial Jail.
Manibpil, who is facing multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder complaints, was identified based on the description provided by witnesses, the report said.
Based on the police investigation, the suspect used an improvised explosive device made from 81 mm mortar.
The blast killed 10 people, including five college students, and wounded over 30 others.
The military said it is not discounting the angle that the bombing could be a handiwork of terrorists. —Andrei Medina/KBK, GMA News
