Jeep falls into ravine in Rizal province; some passengers hurt

Several passengers were injured after a passenger jeep fell into a 35-foot ravine in Angono town in Rizal province before dawn of Good Friday.

Angono police head Superintendent Lucilo Laguna Jr. said the incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. as the jeep was negotiating a sharp curve.

"Lahat na victims dinala sa hospital. Yung iba umuwi na (dahil nagtamo lang ng) minor injuries," he said in an interview on dzBB radio.

Citing initial information, he said the jeep was negotiating a sharp curve when it went out of control and fell into the ravine in Barangay San Isidro.

Some 27 passengers were aboard the jeep, most of them boys aged 15 and up.
