Mother gives birth to firstborn on bus along Commonwealth Avenue in QC

A woman gave birth to a baby boy while on a passenger bus that was plying its Commonwealth Avenue route in Quezon City, GMA News' "24 Oras" reported on Friday. 

 

The mother, identified as Jenny Basbas, delivered her firstborn with the help of a passenger and responding paramedics of the Metro Manila Development Authority.

 

According to the baby's father, Jun dela Cruz, they were on their way home to Rodriguez (formerly Montalban), Rizal last Thursday evening when the mother experienced labor pains. He said they had wanted the delivery of the baby to happen at home.

 

A passenger on the bus assisted them until the MMDA personnel arrived.

 

Baby and parents were brought by ambulance to the East Avenue Medical Center for further medical attention.  — Trisha Macas/ELR, GMA News
