The wrath of tropical cyclone Lando proved too much for many houses and other structures in Casiguran, Aurora where it made landfall over the weekend, GMA News reported on Tuesday.
According to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali, some houses were destroyed while most of them were partially damaged.
GMA News' Oscar Oida said some of the residents were inside their homes when their houses gave way due to the strong winds brought by Lando, which has since weakened from a typhoon to a tropical storm.
The recently repaired Casiguran District Hospital, which was damaged two years ago by Typhoon Labuyo, had parts of its roof torn off.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development said two were killed in Casiguran while 34 others were injured due to Lando.
Because of the damage to the hospital, some of the injured had to be brought to Baler town several kilometers away. —NB, GMA News
