Five people were killed while one was reported missing as bad weather caused floods in several areas in Zamboanga del Norte, a TV report said Wednesday.

A News TV Live report quoted the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office as saying that most of the fatalities were minors believed to have been swept by raging waters.

Flooding, brought about by heavy rains due to the tail end of a cold front, affected Dapitan City, as well as five other towns namely Katipunan, Sindangan, Roxas, Jose Dalman, and Manukan.

Many passengers and vehicles were left stranded in Dapitan City, where water rose up the bridge of Barangays Uyan, Ilaya, Burgos, and Sulangon.

In Roxas town, a big portion of Barangay Langatian was flooded.
