P200,000 worth of suspected shabu seized in QC raid
About 20 grams of alleged shabu with an estimated street value of P200,000 were recovered by authorities during a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Old Balara in Quezon City, GMA News' Jay Sabale reported on Unang Balita on Thursday.
The report said operatives of the Quezon City Police District-District Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-DDEU) were able to recover the alleged drugs on Feria Road at 10 p.m on Wednesday.
Authorities said they recovered the alleged drugs when they served a search warrant for the violation of the Comprehensive Drugs Act to a certain Osing Morales, an alleged member of "bonnet gang," a robbery-hold up group.
"The nature of our police operation is the implementation of search warrant against Osing Morales. As a result sa implementation of search warrant,14 pieces of plastic sachet [ay] nakumpiska po namin, more or less 20 grams with street value of P200,000," said Police Inspector Ferdinand Mendoza, chief of the QCPD-DDEU.
Although the police were not able to arrest Morales as he managed to flee the scene, his alleged runner, identified as Anthony "Butchoy" Pantinople, was nabbed. He was reportedly still high on drugs when arrested.
"Actually our target is Osing Morales but unfortunately during the implementation 'di namin naabutan sa kaniyang bahay, but yung kanilang ginagamit at ni-uutilize as drug courier, si Arnold Pantinople, ay aming naabutan doon sa reported drug den," Mendoza said.
Aside from the alleged shabu, authorities also seized bullets in the alleged drug den.
Pantinople has been brought to Camp Karingal while search for Morales continued, the report said. —Akari Nakano/KBK, GMA News
