Puerto Galera councilor, teen son shot dead in front of house
A town councilor and his 15-year-old son were shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in front of their house in Barangay Tabinay in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Chris Birung, Mindoro Oriental provincial director, identified the victims as Puerto Galera councilor Melchor Arago, 52, and his son Kenneth.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m.
Witnesses said Arago was inside his car parked in front of his house when two gunmen onboard a motorcycle stopped and shot him several times.
The victim's son, Kenneth, stepped out of the house and the gunmen shot him as well.
Birung said the Puerto Galera police are conducting a manhunt and an in-depth investigation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects. — BM, GMA News
