Mild quake hits Southern Leyte

A mild quake rocked Hinunangan town in Southern Leyte province in Eastern Visayas Saturday afternoon, but state seismologists said no casualty or damage was expected. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the quake was recorded at 2:45 p.m. and was tectonic in origin. It said the quake measured Magnitude 2.1 and was felt at Intensity II in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte. Phivolcs said no aftershock or damage was expected. Hinunangan is a fourth-class town with a population of 25,016 people in 5,438 households. - GMANews.TV
