Police arrest 6 in Bulacan drug raid
Six drug suspects were arrested in a raid at a house in a subdivision in San Jose del Monte in Bulacan last Wednesday.
A report by GMA News' Maisol Abdurahman on "Unang Balita" on Friday said that anti-illegal drug authorities arrested the six suspects while they were serving a search warrant at the house of the main target identified as Jasper Alingsa.
Several people were at the house during the police operation, a number of them escaped and operatives only caught up with Alingasa and five others.
Recovered from the house were 24 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P90,000, drug paraphernalia, and drug money.
"They are operating locally. However, we're not discounting the possibility that they are also operating in Caloocan," said Superintendent Fitz Macariola, head of the San Jose del Monte, Bulacan police office.
"Patuloy na inaalan ng mga awtoridad kung sangkot ang grupo sa mga street crime," Macariola added.
Some of those arrested claimed they were not part of the suspected group, and that they were just at a wrong place at a wrong time during the raid.
Alingasa admitted that he surrendered last year, and that he was forced to resume his drug trade operation, hoping to earn enough for his plan to work abroad.
Police are preparing proper charges against the six suspects. —LBG, GMA News
