To ensure the safety of students, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday said they will be deploying about 7,000 cops when classes open on June 3.

“We'll be deploying around 7,000 police personnel. Pero hindi naman ito lahat ng eskuwelahan. Of course meron tayong mga police na itatalaga sa premises,” Eleazar said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.

The NCRPO chief said the deployment of police personnel will be coordinated with the respective schools.

Aside from school areas, NCRPO police personnel will also be deployed to the common travel routes of students for the opening of the school year 2019-2020.

Anti-criminality operations and checkpoints will also be conducted, according to Eleazar. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
