P6.8M 'shabu' seized in Mandaluyong buy bust op
Three individuals were arrested in a buy bust operation conducted at a gasoline station along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, GMA News' Bam Alegre reported on Unang Hirit.
The police arrested Raihana Pontino, Aliola Sultan, and Assir Panggaga and upon inspection of their vehicle, the police found several packets of suspected shabu.
Authorities said the suspects are part of a big syndicate.
"Itong grupo konektado kay Ahmin Buratong na nakakulong sa Bilibid pero may kasamahan na ginagamit para sa pag-distribute ng droga sa Pasig ang center of operations pati Eastern District, Metro Manila and nearby provinces," said Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO Chief.
The police was able to seize one kilogram of suspected shabu with street value of about P6.8 million.
One of the suspects, Pontino said he was just paid P2,000 to deliver the items and that they did not check what the items in his possession.
Eleazar said the suspect's alibi is not new.
"'Tong babae dati na nahuli, may search warrant sa Pasig sa pagbebenta ng drugs at baril. NAkapagpiyansa lang," he added.
The two other suspects declined to issue a statement. — BAP, GMA News
