Two fishermen found P51 million worth of suspected shabu along the coast of Biri, Northern Samar on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the fishermen found the suspected illegal drugs placed in plastic bags along the coast of the municipality of Biri, according to a report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Sunday.

The fishermen from Barangay Pio del Pilar found three sealed plastic bags weighing two kilos each. They also found one opened plastic bag weighing 1.5 kilos.

In total, the discovered suspected shabu weighed 7.5 kilos.

The bags were discovered at around 2:35 p.m. in Sitio Pagul.

The fishermen then turned over the plastic bags to the police.

Police Brigadier General Dionardo Carlos, regional director of Eastern Visayas Police, told Balitanghali in an interview that the white crystalline substance will be brought to the crime laboratory for testing to confirm if these are indeed methamphetamine chloride or shabu. —KG, GMA News
