At least 21 pigs have died in three days in Malolos, Bulacan amid the measures of the Department of Agriculture (DA) to control the spread of African swine fever, GMA News stringer Rommel Ramos reported on Balitanghali on Wednesday.

The reported hog deaths were recorded in Barangay Santor.

Backyard hog raiser Alejandro Roque said that some personnel from the DA came on Tuesday to take samples from the deceased pigs.

Before this, another 13 dead piglets were found in an irrigation canal in Barangay Panasahan last week.

On Monday, DA said the ASF outbreak has been confirmed in only three particular places in the provinces of Rizal and Bulacan. —Joviland Rita/LDF, GMA News
