Wil Dasovich recounts fireworks mishap during New Year’s celebration
The New Year's celebration of vlogger Wil Dasovich and his girlfriend, cosplayer and presenter Alodia Gosiengfiao, was a little livelier than expected when a bunch of fireworks accidentally misfired at their family and friends in the Gosiengfiao residence, according to Wil's latest YouTube video.
"Grabe guys. Kagabi was pretty wild. It was a first. I had a first-hand experience. I was enjoying...Whether it's good or bad, there's a first for everything," Wil said.
On New Year's eve, Wil and Alodia's family and friends were playing Super Mario Go-Kart as a fountain of fireworks was setting off behind them.
Instead of shooting up in the air, some of the fireworks shot sideways towards the partygoers.
The incident caused Wil's leg to briefly catch fire and his friend to get a "minor burn" on his hand as he tried to stop the fire.
A section of Alodia's new chair used in the Go-Kart game also got scorched afterwards.
"Just like with the ocean, never turn your back on fireworks," Wil said in his vlog.
Despite the incident, the 28-year-old influencer said that it made for a crazy New Year in the Philippines.
The mishap did not stop the partygoers from lighting up sparklers and watching the colorful display of fireworks at midnight. — Angelica Y. Yang/BM, GMA News
