Aicelle Santos ‘very proud’ of frontliner brother in UK
Aicelle Santos’s brother Aaron is among thousands of Filipino health workers in the United Kingdom amid the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
To honor him and his fellow frontliners, the Kapuso singer dedicated a heartfelt performance of her song “Tuloy Tuloy Lang” on “Unang Hirit.”
Aaron Santos is currently working as a nurse in the UK, where hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 cases have been recorded.
“Hindi maalis sa buong pamilya namin na mag-alala, kumusta ba ’yung kalagayan niya, halos araw-araw pinapaalala na namin,” Aicelle shared during an interview.
Despite their worries, Aicelle and her family in the Philippines are “very, very proud” of her brother.
“’Pag sinabi mo kasing frontliner, or health worker, karamihan po diyan, Pinoy po talaga, at’yung sakripisyo pong ginagawa nila ay napakalaking bagay, kaya maraming maraming salamat,” she said.
“Nung dumating na nga po itong pandemia, binalikan ko ulit yung kanta, sabi ko tamang tama ang mensahe niya, very timely, kasi may pag-asa at liwanag sa buhay,” she said. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
