Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said he would have continued his acting career or become a seaman if he is not a politician at present.

“Artista, at kung hindi ako nag artista malamang seaman kasi yun yung pangarap ko, maging kapitan ng barko dati nung bata ako dahil kapag naging kapitan ka ng barko, yayaman ka e,” Moreon said during Jessica Soho’s The Presidential Interviews aired Saturday.

(I would be an actor or seaman because it was my dream to be a captain of the ship, I wanted to become rich when I was a child.)

For Moreno, he looked up to his parents as his real life heroes.

“Yung mga magulang ko kasi marami silang naituro sa akin na kung paano iraos ang buhay, paano maging matatag sa buhay, paano makaalis sa kinalalagyan, lalung-lalo na tatay ko,” he said.

(I looked up to my parents because they taught me a lot of values and made me stronger in life. I accomplish greater things because of my father.)

The Manila mayor revealed that he cries whenever he sees children who are sick.

“Kasi nung bata ako, nagtae ako, so dinala ako sa San Lazaro tapos yung nanay ko maglalabada para makabili ng kulay dilaw na dextrose, so lagi kong naaalala yun, so kapag may sakit ang bata medyo nadudurog ako,” he said.

(When I was a child, I had diarrhea, so I was brought to San Lazaro hospital while my mother did laundry chores to buy me a dextrose. I always remember that whenever I see children who also get sick.)

Moreno said he also looked things at “differently and quietly to see the clear picture” whenever he gets sad.

Moreno is running for president under the Aksyon Demokratiko party in May 2022 polls.

He filed his certificate of candidacy for president with the Commission on Elections last October 4. — RSJ, GMA News
