RAINFALL ALERT: Orange in Bataan, Zambales; yellow in Metro Manila, nearby areas (Thursday, 9:30 pm)

PAGASA issued an orange rainfall warning over Zambales and Bataan on Thursday night due to the Habagat or Southwest Monsoon, while a yellow rainfall warning was raised over Metro Manila and nearby areas.

In a heavy rainfall warning issued at 9:30 p.m., the state weather bureau warned of threatening floods in areas under the orange warning and possible flooding in flood-prone areas under the yellow warning.

The following rainfall warnings are in effect:

• Tarlac (Mayantoc, San Jose, Capas, Bamban)
• Pampanga (Mabalacat, Angeles, Porac, Floridablanca, Bacolor, Santa Rita, Guagua, Lubao, Sasmuan, Macabebe, Masantol, Minalin, Mexico, San Fernando, San Simon, Santo Tomas, Apalit)
• Bulacan (Hagonoy, Calumpit, Paombong, Malolos, Pulilan, Plaridel, Guiguinto, Bulakan, Baliuag, Pandi, Bustos, Balagtas, Bocaue, Meycauayan, Obando, Marilao, Santa Maria, San Jose del Monte)
• Rizal (Rodriguez, San Mateo)
• Batangas (Nasugbu, Tuy, Balayan, Lian, Calatagan)
• Cavite (Alfonso, General Trias, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Ternate, Trece Martires, Bacoor, Cavite City, Dasmarinas, Imus, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza)

PAGASA also said light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains were expected within the next three hours in parts of Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas and Laguna.

These include Tarlac (Concepcion, Anao, Tarlac City, Gerona, La Paz, Paniqui, Pura, Ramos, San Manuel, Victoria, Camiling, Moncada, San Clemente, Santa Ignacia); Pampanga (Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, San Luis, Santa Ana); Cavite (Amadeo, Mendez, Silang, Tagaytay, General Mariano Alvarez, Carmona); Batangas (Calaca, Laurel, Lemery, San Jose, San Pascual, Bauan, Mabini, San Luis, Santa Teresita, Taal, San Nicolas, Agoncillo, Talisay, Tanauan, Santo Tomas, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, Cuenca, Alitagtag, Balete, Lipa); and Laguna (Alaminos, Bay, Cabuyao, Calauan, Calamba, Santa Rosa, Los Baños, Pila, Santa Cruz, Victoria, Biñan, San Pedro, Famy, Kalayaan, Lumban, Mabitac, Paete, Pakil, Pangil, Santa Maria, Siniloan).

Light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains were also affecting parts of Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija and may persist within the next three hours and affect nearby areas.

The public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices were advised to monitor weather conditions and watch for the next warning, which PAGASA said would be issued at 11 p.m. Thursday. –NB, GMA News
